Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Towns Competition 2017

The BBN has entered Blackrock in the Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Towns’ Competition 2017. This is an exciting development and enables us to showcase the improvements that have taken place in our village and also to set out our plans for future development.

Bank of Ireland has launched this national competition to find the country’s most enterprising town following the success of a pilot Enterprising Town competition last year. Bank of Ireland’s National Enterprising Town Awards aims to assist in the promotion of enterprise across the country by bringing business and community groups together to showcase, to a panel of judges, the spirit of enterprise in their local area. With over 30 monetary awards in total plus trophies (total prize fund €110,000), the overall winning town will be awarded €23,000 plus a trophy and the significant title of Ireland’s Most Enterprising Town.

The judging panel are visiting all nominated places throughout September and early October before announcing the winners at an awards ceremony in November 2017.

The Format of the judging is as follows:

There will be a 3 hour visit by the judges to the each town – Blackrock will be visited on 3 October 2017. Following a 30 minute presentation by the Blackrock team, there will be a 30 minutes Question and Answer session, then 20 minutes to meet people socially, then 80 minutes to visit and view key initiatives selected by the organising committee, and finally 20 minutes concluding comments and wrap up.
