Blackrock Seafront Action Group – Thursday 19th October.

Blackrock Seafront Action Group – Thursday 19th October.

We need your help!

Why can’t we have better access to our seafront? How do we link Blackrock Village with our seafront? These are questions that we have been asked for many years by residents and businesses in Blackrock. It was a key issue identified in the recent Blackrock Health Check carried out by the Blackrock Business Network. Transforming our seafront is seen as a game changer which will help to make Blackrock a vibrant and thriving village once again.
Councillors for the Dun Laoghaire/Blackrock area recently passed a motion proposed by Cllr Deirdre Kingston to provide for the improving access to the seafront in the next capital plan for the county. Now is the time to bring together local businesses and residents to make sure that this happens and to engage with and influence the process. We are looking for 12-15 people who are passionate about the future of Blackrock and our seafront to form an action group dedicated to improving Blackrock’s access to the seafront. We need people with ideas, different skill sets and dedication to make this happen.
A first meeting of this Action Group is scheduled for Thursday 19th October at 6.00pm, in HeadOffice, 8-10 Rock Hill, Main Street, Blackrock. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Catherine.curran@gmail.com. If you are passionate about the seafront and would like to contribute but cannot commit to the action group please get in touch. The seafront will not be transformed overnight and we will need a lot of assistance over coming years to help make it happen!
