Bloomsday in Blackrock, Wellness at Work and an interview with Tom Feeney

We are delighted to announce the events schedule for June in Blackrock and look forward to seeing you at them! We have also started a new member focus post, and plan to get around to all of our members. We are starting off with Tom Feeney, the Chairperson of the Blackrock Business Network committee, a tireless group of local business owners and employees who give their time voluntarily to the improvement of Blackrock village for everyone.

The first event in Blackrock this June is the Bloomsday (Friday 16th June) event, ‘A Play on Ulysses’. As part of The Bloomsday Festival, in association with the James Joyce centre, it promises to be a day of festivities at the square in Blackrock Village (outside the Bank of Ireland), commencing at 2pm and culminating in the performance at 6pm of this wonderful production. This event is supported by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, the Blackrock Business Network, and the retailers and community of Blackrock, including a new title sponsorship from Zurich this year.

The second is third Blackrock Breakfast briefing, ‘Fit for Work’, on Wednesday, 21st June at 7.30am, kindly hosted by Head Office. For busy business owners and workers it can be tough to filter through all the noise about fitness and wellness. This breakfast briefing will help clarify the approach that will work best for you. In this interactive panel discussion some common myths about fitness will be busted. Places are free but limited so be sure to RSVP here for a interactive, informative morning.

We are excited to bring you our first Member Focus blog post, where we had a quick chat with Dr. Tom Feeney, Blackrock Dental, about his experiences in business. We also asked him why he joined the Blackrock Business Network, and what it means to him to be committed to the improvement of Blackrock Village.
