Neurodiversity Blackrock is a community group of parents of neurodivergent children, as well as other local supporters, seeking to make Blackrock a neurodiversity friendly village. Working with Neurodiversity Ireland, they hope to promote and celebrate neurodiversity through awareness, education, and engagement.
Many families with neurodivergent children can find dining out or leveraging services in the community uncomfortable, and a highly stressful experience. A child may have sensory processing difficulties and shops/restaurants/service providers are often an over stimulating environment. Children with such challenges may struggle to wait in a queue or sit in a chair for more than a few minutes, and parents often are faced with unhelpful comments and stares from others.
Neurodiversity Blackrock would welcome retailers and businesses to display their ‘Neurodiversity Blackrock’ symbol in their stores, and they would be delighted to meet with businesses to discuss what this means, and to give them their logo. Please email them at neurodiversityblackrock@
